Advanced Tech Fluency Bootcamp

For Ambitious Non-Technical Founders and Executives

Schedule Interview

I like to be upfront that this is a sales page, and this program is a >$2000 investment in yourself and your business. No gimmicks.

If you’re not going to build and grow a tech company, this page is not for you.

If you do, keep reading!

P.S. You can also read my book, Tech Fluent CEO and get a ton of value for free. It’s one of the best books you’ll ever read — give it a shot.

Who this is for

If you believe these two things:

A real CEO takes ultimate ownership, and doesn’t say things like “If my company fails due to a technical strategy issue, then it’s the CTO’s/VP’s/engineer’s fault.

A real CEO needs to understand the most important tech and product decisions that affect the organization at a strategic level.

…then this program is for you.

If you — like every great CEO of our time, from Steve Jobs of Apple to Jack Ma of Alibaba — believe that you should be Tech Fluent, then this program will be life-changing for you.

This doesn’t mean you have to learn to code / become an engineer yourself.

What you need to learn instead is to how to bridge the gap.

The Tech Fluency Bootcamp is designed exactly for that purpose.

  • Learn how to actually bring your vision to life, using the right technologies and resources.
  • Confidently participate in high-level technical discussions — never feel like a “lost” bystander in such meetings. Lead and manage with more certainty.
  • Save yourself months of time, money, and stress by not “wondering” how things are going and whether the tech team is on the same page as you. No obvious mistakes or surprises.

The first time you avoid a major mistake or misalignment (or fix it quickly and decisively), will already pay for this program ten times over.

Meet your instructor

Hi I’m Aman, author of Tech Fluent CEO, and founder & CEO of DenseLayers. As an engineer I have worked on self-driving trucks, computer vision for robot assistants, and AI-enabled brain-computer interfaces. Besides that, I’ve done B2B sales for two tech startups both worth >$1 billion.

I’ve received worldwide recognition for my teaching. My essays explaining cutting-edge AI technologies to non-engineers have been widely discussed in the media, and I’ve given guest lectures on AI to fine arts students. I have a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from Cornell University, USA.

I work with CEOs from diverse businesses and industries, which you can hear about on my podcasts.

I’m based in Tokyo, Japan.

What You'll Learn

Part 1: Thinking and Managing like a CTO

The $100 million question here is how to get your vision across in such a way that the engineers build exactly what you had in mind (or better), and make the right decisions in alignment with your vision even after you’ve left the room.

Ambiguity is like a virus — it quickly contaminates the entire engineering process and destroys companies.

It’s the reason why most tech projects die, why costs explode, and why timelines get delayed.

So right off the bat, you’ll learn proven Systems Engineering tools (some of them being in use for the last 60+ years) to design and analyze software systems and communicate with engineers in a crystal clear way.

You’ll also know exactly when to push your vision, and where to hold back and let the engineers do their job.

This is the stuff that doesn’t get taught in CS programs and programming bootcamps, but in the school of hard knocks.

It includes theory + application + lots of practice.

Part 2: Becoming a Respected Technical Decision Maker

The next step is to build a solid practical foundation in software technology, so that you can participate in technical strategy and make decisions / give insights that are greatly respected by engineers.

In other words, now you’ll learn to “walk the walk and talk the talk.” (Without learning to code, of course.)

We will dive into complex web and mobile applications. Learn about the back-end, front-end, cloud infrastructure and DevOps. See how applications scale to millions of users. Become familiar with cybersecurity principles, including common attacks and protective measures. Look under the hoods of popular tech products.

Again, lots of theory + practice.

Learn concepts, not buzzwords
Practice systems-thinking and architecture skills
Practice high-stakes technical discussions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the program?
The core program will take ~3 months. The great thing is that you won’t have to “wait” for results — from Day 1, you’ll immediately start applying concepts, being able to see new things and do things differently!

In fact, I’ll encourage you to report back each week and share what results you saw.

It requires a commitment of 1-3 hours every week. You can also go a bit faster than the rest of the group if you have more time per week.

You’ll get lifetime access and are welcome to keep showing up for the group calls for as long as I do them.

Why is there an interview?
The true value of a group is in who’s NOT in it. I want to make sure your peers are real, serious CEOs / entrepreneurs like yourself, whom you can learn from.

The price seems a bit low. Why is that?
Not just that, I also offer a 101% guarantee: if it doesn’t work for you, I’ll give you your money back and then some. No questions asked.

I like Warren Buffett’s rule: if you take someone’s money, make sure they walk away thinking they got a bargain.

I used to do only 1:1 coaching back in the day. Group coaching is a new format for me, hence the low price (this price will quickly increase with time, however).

Will I learn to code?
No. Coding skills aren’t necessary to build technical intuition. If you are really interested, I recommend FreeCodeCamp.org or Code.org to get high-quality instruction for free.

Will I learn to use no-code tools like Bubble?
No. These tools / website builders are good for validating ideas quickly and can be part of a holistic tech strategy, but they won’t get you any closer to becoming a technical leader — building real digital companies and hiring engineers who write code.

What is the learning experience like?
My style is a mix of hand-holding and tough love. Expect a lot of real-world practice and being put in the hot seat sometimes.

I follow the principle of “i+1” — the rigor will be just out of your comfort zone, but not overwhelming.

I’m in the <insert name> industry. Will it work for me?
If you never plan to hire software engineers or work with them, this is not for you.

What prior knowledge do I need?
It’s good to be business-savvy / have some real world experience, so you can relate to and appreciate what you learn in the program. Otherwise, come as you are.

How will I access the course?
It will be on Google Classroom and over Zoom. I will release the learning material (lectures, quizzes, assignments) on the class homepage periodically.

You won’t need to download any software for this program.

The price is too high! Can I get a discount?
Unfortunately, I don’t give discounts. You can buy my book for <$10, and if even that is too much, you can email me to ask for a free PDF. I’ve been there and I understand.

Can I get training/workshops for my whole team?
Unfortunately, I only have enough time and energy to work with entrepreneurs / CEOs. But you can buy bulk copies of the book for the rest of your team.

Which is your favourite animal?
The honey badger. They’re really cool. I also like big dogs — the bigger the better.
