Advanced Technical Fluency Program

For Non-Technical Executives

Nobody’s proud to call themselves a “non-technical” professional.

In this program, I teach you how to build and lead digital organizations even if you’re not a techie.

I like to be upfront that this is a sales page. No gimmicks.

If you (or your team) could greatly benefit from the training and coaching I provide, I’ll encourage you to schedule a 20-minute call with me.

If we talk and decide it’s not for you, I’ll just give you my honest advice on how you could proceed without me.

P.S. You can also read my book, Tech Fluent CEO and get a lot of value that way.

Why Technical Fluency?

As a non-technical leader, you’ve probably felt a “disconnect” while working with engineers, or reading about new technological developments.

You have no interest in learning to code or becoming a software engineer, but do want to be well-educated about technology so you can make important decisions.

Becoming Tech Fluent will help you close this gap:

  • Be an innovative pioneer and stay ahead of the curve in your industry, instead of being a follower.
  • Use technology to grow your revenue, margins, and valuation. Automate the inefficient parts of your company using new tools like AI.
  • Confidently participate in high-level technical discussions — never feel like a “lost” bystander in such meetings.
  • Strategize technically and have informed opinions. Unleash valuable insights from your unique background that engineers are probably missing!
  • Lead and manage with more certainty. Easily explain important technology decisions to others.
  • Save yourself months of time, money, and sobbing in the bathroom by not “wondering” how things are going and whether the tech team is on the same page as you.
  • Avoid costly mistakes when outsourcing tech development. Get high-quality engineering work done at a fair price and within the deadline.

Meet your instructor

Hi I’m Aman, author of Tech Fluent CEO. As an engineer I have worked on self-driving trucks, computer vision for robot assistants, and AI-enabled brain-computer interfaces. Besides that, I’ve done B2B sales for two tech startups both worth >$1 billion.

I’ve received worldwide recognition for my teaching. My essays explaining cutting-edge AI technologies to non-engineers have been widely discussed in the media, and I’ve given guest lectures on AI to fine arts students in Japan. I have a Masters degree in Systems Engineering from Cornell University, USA.

I work with CEOs from diverse businesses and industries, which you can hear about on my podcasts.

What You'll Learn

(It will be heavily personalized for you, but here's the rough break-up.)

Part 1: The Basics

Learn the basics of software technology and machine learning. Practice analyzing and designing systems at a high level.

Part 2: Full Stack

We will dive into complex web and mobile applications. Learn about the back-end, front-end, cloud infrastructure and DevOps. See how applications scale to millions of users. Become familiar with cybersecurity principles, including common attacks and protective measures. Look under the hoods of popular tech products.

Part 3: New Ideas

Explore what’s possible! Let’s work together to chart a new path for you and your company.

Miscellanous

You’ll also work on “soft technical skills” like how to properly argue with senior engineers about major decisions, how to vet technical vendors/salespeople, how to quickly read and understand highly technical articles, etc.

The full training can take anywhere from 30 to 90 days (I can’t say for sure before talking to you). We’ll conduct regular meetings on Zoom.

Price: $4,500 - $9,500

(Per-person, one-time payment)

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I learn to code?
No. Coding skills aren’t necessary to build technical intuition. If you are really interested, I recommend going on FreeCodeCamp.org or Code.org to get high-quality instruction for free.

What is the learning experience like?
My style is a mix of hand-holding and tough love. Expect a lot of real-world practice and being put on the spot sometimes — it’s more fun this way anyway… at least for me (*evil laugh*). If you’re looking for something to “binge” instead, you can read my book.

I follow the principle of “i+1” — the rigor will be just out of your comfort zone, but not overwhelming.

I’m in the <insert name> industry. Will you be able to understand my business?
Shouldn’t make a difference, but we’ll know for sure during the interview.

What prior knowledge do I need?
It’s helpful to be business-savvy, but not necessary. Come as you are.

How will I access the course?
It will be on Google Classroom. I will release the learning material (lectures, quizzes, assignments) on the class homepage periodically. We will also schedule live video sessions each week. You won’t need to download any software for the program.

*If your company has a dedicated LMS and they won’t let you use anything else, I can consider using that.

Can I get a discount?
It’s a fair price and it includes direct access to me, so unfortunately I won’t give discounts. In any case, you can access my book, my >4000 word essays, my video lectures, and my podcasts for free.

Can I get training/workshops for my whole team?
Use the same link above to schedule a meeting. 🙂

Which is your favourite animal?
The honey badger.
