Workplace Insecurity is Irresponsible

By February 3, 2026No Comments

Here’s something many people don’t think about often:

When someone hires you for a job, they want you to succeed in that job even more than you want to succeed.

Once again:

Their desire for you to succeed is greater than your own.

They’re paying money in the hope that you will exceed expectations.

If you fail, for your company, most of the money they spent on your paycheck (for however many weeks, months, or years) goes down the toilet.

If you fail, for you, you still walk away with those paychecks having paid your rent and living expenses (for however many weeks, months, or years).

So if you’re someone who has impostor syndrome, who’s constantly worrying whether your employer doesn’t like you and wants to fire you, here’s a mental trick to use:

Act from the assumption that the company is desperately hoping and praying and cheering for you to succeed, even more than you do.

Don’t let your insecurities have any say in deciding how you act. Be as bold as you really want to be.

On second thought, I’m not sure if this post is going in the same direction I thought it would, but I’ll publish it anyway for now.
