Addendum: Things vs Events
The discussion of databases could go on forever. But out of all the extended topics that didn’t make it into the book, there is ONE which I’d recommend you learn about first, and that is event-driven architectures.
Now, we haven’t learned about back-end architecture yet (it’ll come in Chapter Eight), but it’s still valuable to learn a little about “events” because they’re such a paradigm shift in how we think about “data.”
To that end, I’d like to share with you this video below about “Apache Kafka.”

About the Artwork
Two themes: all the world’s data, and information overload. One of the “cleverest” little things in the book!
